On 15 May, the European Forest Institute in collaboration with the European Network Integrate will present the findings of the Białowieża Science Initiative, followed by a public panel discussion on forest conservation and management in protected areas in Europe.
The Białowieża Science Initiative has gathered more than 20 excellent scientists representing different disciplines and viewpoints to collect the available scientific evidence on the current and future situation of the Białowieża Forest in Poland, and to draw conclusions for other forests in Europe facing similar challenges. During this event, key findings of this assessment will be presented, and subsequently, a broader discussion about forest conservation and management in Europe is intended.
The event will be held in Brussels, Rue Montoyer 47 (Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union) on 15 May from 18:30 until 21:30. Please find the agenda for the event here.
